Dexis Platinum Intraoral X-Ray Sensor

The DEXIS Platinum Sensor is a breakthrough direct-USB digital X-ray solution. We have refined our single-sensor concept and made it even more portable, even more comfortable. And with PureImage™ Technology, the image quality is even more remarkable.

PerfectSize™ Sensor

The ability to take vertical AND horizontal bitewings AND all periapicals with a single sensor eliminates the cost and inconvenience of using multiple sensors of different sizes.

Direct USB Connectivity

Image capture and processing electronics are fully integrated into the sensor itself. There is no need for a separate adapter or docking station. Simply ‘plug-n-ray.’

DEXIS is the first to offer gold plating on the sensor’s USB connector for better durability.

WiseAngle™ Cable Exit

Located on the sensor’s back, the patented WiseAngle™ Cable Exit eases positioning, and helps patients better tolerate the procedure. It also allows cable flexibility, reducing stress on the connection to increase reliability.

TrueComfort ™ Design

To maximize both patient comfort and ease of use, DEXIS has enhanced its own great sensor housing design by refining the curvatures, redesigning the cable exit, upgrading the materials, and giving it a slimmer profile.

Four beveled corners and a smooth, rounded casing ensure there are no sharp edges against the palate or soft tissue. The smaller, angled dome makes precise placement in posterior regions easy.

Integrated Electronics

A smart design places the electronics on the sensor’s back to maximize the active imaging area.

The on-board electronics provide the USB functionality allowing direct connection to the computer.

ScatterGuard

A protective shield affixed to the interior wall of the rear housing protects the patient by preventing X-ray back scattering.

PureImage™ Technology

The ability to see subtleties in X-ray images is crucial to diagnosis, collaboration, and patient communication.

Through a combination of advanced hardware and software technologies, the DEXIS Platinum sensor is able to deliver clinically meaningful images that are extremely clear and highly detailed.

A premium quality Caesium Iodide scintillator 1 converts the X-ray beam into visible light and guides it through its micro-columnar structures.

Fiber optics then transmit the light precisely to the CMOS sensor surface. This efficient design allows for a high signal-to-noise ratio resulting in clean images with virtually no visual noise.

To bring out the smallest details, our CMOS sensor features an exclusive pixel architecture that maximizes active area at the pixel level and high resolution output of 20+ visible lp/mm.

16,000 shades of gray are generated by a 14-bit analog-to-digital converter allowing subtle variations in densities to be seen.

The enhanced quantum efficiency of this sensor makes it very receptive and efficient when capturing X-ray images across a dynamic range of radiation settings. Lower settings decrease patients’ radiation exposure.

At 2.2 megapixels, images can be displayed at ultralarge sizes — zoom way in without pixelation or loss of quality.

To attain optimal, consistent images whether using the latest X-ray generator or an older model, the DEXIS hardware and software work in harmony, compensating for radiation variances and guarding against under- and over-exposure.

In addition, each image acquired using the DEXIS software includes a radiation dose indicator providing the clinician with visual feedback and a benchmark when increasing or decreasing radiation dosage.

Highly Intuitive Software

DEXIS software is easy to learn and simple to use. Most common procedures are done in two clicks or less. Its “1-Click Full-Mouth Series” makes it possible to reduce a 25-minute FMX procedure to just 5 minutes, start to finish.

Outstanding Automation

When the sensor detects radiation, the image is automatically saved, dated, tooth numbered, and correctly oriented — without the need to return to the keyboard. Built-in X-ray sequences allow taking series with the fewest holder changes.

Increased Productivity

The sensor design allows quick, easy positioning. Images are available instantly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and mounting X-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately.

Powerful Imaging Hub

DEXIS manages all digital images including intra- and extraoral radiographs, as well as intra- and extra-oral photos. Stored images can instantly be organized, retrieved, printed and easily shared with patients and colleagues.
