- Match the rating to the location. Use the NEMA/IP rating on the listing. A Type 4X stainless enclosure is meant for washdown and outdoor locations. A standard handy box is for dry interior work.
- Check the dimensions against the space and the equipment you're mounting. Measure your mounting space and the equipment first, then compare with the listed dimensions.
- Know the condition terms. "New in sealed box," "new/open box," and "new old stock" have different meanings. Our surplus and open-box guide explains each one.
- Check code compliance. Listings show the manufacturer's certifications as stated (for example UL or CSA). Your inspector or engineer confirms whether a part meets code for your job.

Most are listed as new. Some are new in the original sealed box, and some are new/open box. The exact condition is on each product page, so check it before you order.
Do you sell in bulk?
Several items, including the 1-gang metal utility box and the Hoffman CSD20168SS, are stocked in quantity. You can enter your quantity at checkout. For pallet or freight orders, see freight shipping or contact us.
Are these enclosures UL listed or NEMA rated?
We only show ratings and certifications that appear in the manufacturer data on the listing. For example, the Hoffman CSD20168SS lists NEMA 3R/4/4X/12/13, IP66, and UL 508A. We don't add ratings that aren't documented.
